I was shocked, for just a brief moment, when I read that the Koch brothers were possibly intending to vote for Hillary Clinton, a Democrat, over Donald Trump, in the general election assuming both of them win the nomination of their respective parties.

Oil tycoon and conservative mega-donor Charles Koch had kind words for both Bill and Hillary Clinton in an interview Sunday, saying there was an outside chance he could support her in November. <CNN, link>

But then I quickly realized that mega-wealthy donors to national politicians need candidates whom they can influence, and Donald Trump does not fit the bill (nor does Bernie Sanders on the Democrat side).

Hillary Clinton, however, does fit the bill.  Oh, how she has been bought by powerful interests, hundreds of times over, and the Koch brothers prefer someone like her to Trump, who does not appear to be “Buy-able”.

First, there are Hillary’s Wall Street and other speaking fees, which total $153 million (emphasis added:)

Hillary Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, combined to earn more than $153 million in paid speeches from 2001 until Hillary Clinton launched her presidential campaign last spring, a CNN analysis shows.

In total, the two gave 729 speeches from February 2001 until May, receiving an average payday of $210,795 for each address. The two also reported at least $7.7 million for at least 39 speeches to big banks, including Goldman Sachs and UBS, with Hillary Clinton, the Democratic 2016 front-runner, collecting at least $1.8 million for at least eight speeches to big banks. <CNN, link>

When Bernie Sanders and his supporters call her out for being in the pocket of the big banks, he has good reason to do so.

She is owned by them, and everybody knows it.

Check out this amazing photo from 2014 of Lloyd Blankfein, CEO of Goldman, Sachs, and his candidate, Hillary Clinton.  I was going to add some fun labels to this photo, but then I thought “Why ruin such a perfect indictment of who Hillary Clinton is?”.

That smile. That smirk.

Blankfein and Hillary

Here is a nice quote from Bernie, who tells it like it is and is beloved my millions of Democrats as a result (CNN, link):

What being part of the establishment is, is in the last quarter, having a super PAC that raised $15 million from Wall Street, that throughout one’s life raised a whole lot of money from the drug companies and other special interests

Bernie knows what we all know — that Hillary Clinton is a big liar when she claims to be “fighting for the people”.Clintonocchio

Second, we have more millions — actually, BILLIONS, of dollars donated by foreigners to the Clinton Global Initiative, her private “good works” entity that cynics might say serves a dual purpose: it allows foreigners to contribute to a presidential candidate, something that is illegal in the United States.

The Washington Post reported last week that foreign sources, including governments, made up a third of those who have given the foundation more than $1 million over time. The Post found that the foundation, begun by former president Bill Clinton, has raised nearly $2 billion since its creation in 2001. <Washington Post, link>

How much was that?

Two Billion dollars.

Is Hillary above accepting millions from foreign governments while serving as Secretary of State — a clear conflict of interest?

No, not at all:

The Clinton Foundation accepted millions of dollars from seven foreign governments during Hillary Rodham Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state, including one donation that violated its ethics agreement with the Obama administration, foundation officials disclosed Wednesday.

She is owned by them, and everybody knows it.

So the Koch brothers, those very same Republican rich guys whom Liberals love to hate, are now on record supporting Hillary Clinton, and why shouldn’t they when Donald Trump as president would scare them to their very bones by being a president who doesn’t need and doesn’t want their money.

Which is why many Bernie supporters will either sit out the election if Hillary gets the nomination, or will vote for Trump (and not tell anyone for fear of being shamed).

In either case, the Republican wins.

Most of you have seen the 2006 clip of then-Senator Barack Obama speaking on the Senate floor about why it was the Senate’s duty to block George W. Bush’s supreme court nominee based on ideological grounds, but I couldn’t resist posting it.

In addition, here is a recent press conference during which Obama is asked about how his current position (‘Confirm my nominee even though I’m a lame duck’) squares with this 2006 obstructionist position.

His non-answer is hilarious, and disgusting.

Caught red-handed, mr. Obama.

The Iranian treatment of our U.S. navy sailors in recent days is a new low in the ongoing destruction, by Barack Obama, of our military credibility around the world.

The most powerful military in the world is being allowed by Obama to look like this:

US Navy Sailors on their knees in the age of Obama

John McCain, showing some fire that he never showed in 2008 when he should have easily defeated Barack Obama, raised in Indonesia and promoting anti-American views, had some very appropriate things to say about it.

From an article in Politico, transcribing McCain’s appearance on Bill O’Reilly’s program <link>, emphasis added by me:

This is desperation not to offend the Iranians because the Iranian deal has to be kept intact. It’s now made the United States of America be the subject of absolute humiliation.

Unbelievably, Biden said this was just standard nautical practice, Kerry said all indications show the sailors were taken care of, Earnest — that idiot — said the proper courtesy…Iran gave our sailors the proper courtesy you’d expect. And Kerry, to top it all off, expressed his gratitude.  If a ship comes into your waters, first thing you do is contact them on the radio, then you send the coast guard out and say hey, if you got a problem here and you know you’re in our international waters, then turn them away and we’ll help you out. You don’t have … American sailors with their hands clasped behind their heads, and of course they said there was no apology. The Iranians just put up on the Internet one of our sailors apologizing. This is one, a propaganda coup, and if this is international law that any boat that strays into another nation’s international waters then we’ll incarcerate them for the night and put guns to their heads, this is an outrage.

The article points out that White House press secretary Joshua

…Earnest said the sailors were “being sort of afforded the proper courtesy that you would expect.”

That’s where we are in 2016, folks: the Obama administration considers abject humiliation of American military forces to be “…the courtesy that you would expect”.

And let’s not forget that as this latest blow to American military influence is taking place, Iran is being given a path to the development of nuclear weapons and the missiles that will be able to deliver those weapons to distant shores.

Our enemies are growing ever stronger, and they are being enabled, directly and indirectly, by Barack Obama and the “idiots” (in McCain’s words) who support him and work for him.

I saw this headline on the Huffington Post and rejoiced that not all Liberals have drunken the toxic koolaid that seems to have infected the media when it comes to Hillary Clinton’s bankrupt campaign <link>:

Favorability Ratings Show Hillary Clinton Is Unelectable and Bernie Sanders Wins a General Election

How’s that for some Bernie love?

It is no surprise that the Obama inJustice Department has decided not to prosecute Lois Lerner for carrying out Obama’s apparent strategy of using the IRS to intimidate and shut down political opposition to the Obama regime.

The Justice Department sent a letter to Congress on Friday, informing Members that neither Lerner nor anyone else at the Internal Revenue Service will face criminal charges stemming from the way they delayed consideration of conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status.

This is the second time the Obama Justice Department has let Lerner off the hook. This past April, DOJ attorneys said they would not prosecute her for contempt of Congress. <cnsnews.com, link>

As I wrote recently (link), the Office of the Independent Counsel needs to be brought back precisely for this set of circumstances: a president uses a part of his administration (the IRS in this case) to pursue political ends and another part of his administration (the Justice Department) refuses to uphold the law and prosecute administration members who may have broken the law.

Meanwhile, the ghost of Richard M. Nixon has got to be wondering why he resigned the presidency given the degree of lawlessness in the Obama administration.

Nixon wonders about Lois Lerner and Barry Obama

When thinking about the flow of historical events, one can play an entertaining game of “what if”.

For example, what if Germany had won World War II? Check out this Nazi victory map, and be grateful for the leadership of Winston Churchill, Ike, and Harry Truman:

Nazi victory map

And so I have been wondering lately: what if Rudy Giuliani had not dropped out of the senate race in 2000 and instead hung in there and went on to beat carpet-bagging hillary Clinton for the the open Senate seat in the state of New York?

This question is interesting on many levels, including how Mrs. Clinton, had she lost the Senate election to Mr. Giuliani, one of the great political leaders of the 20th century, would have perhaps entered a wilderness of oblivion, remaining no more than (politically speaking) the wife of a disgraced, philandering and reckless president.

American Hero Rudy GiulianiTo become a United States Senator, duly elected by the people of the state of New York, Hilary Clinton had to beat Rudy Giuliani, a man beloved by New Yorkers for having saved New York City from the decay and rot that it was infected with by a series of Liberal mayors. The battle of these two politicians was an exciting prospect, until Rudy ended it before it even began:

NEW YORK — Showing a vulnerable side New Yorkers rarely see, Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani on Friday dropped out of the U.S. Senate race against Hillary Rodham Clinton, saying the pressures of dealing with prostate cancer would prevent him from devoting his full attention and energy to the campaign. <LA Times, link>

I’ve decided what I should do is put my health first. . . . This is not the right time for me to run for office.

I have written before (link) about how miraculous Rudy was — he worked actual miracles (“miraculous“) — in halting the violent decline of the great city of New York, and then refurbished it to a high polish that New Yorkers have enjoyed immensely in the years since his glorious Mayoral terms.

Before and After Giuliani in New York

I lived the before and after myself, as a resident of Manhattan during those years, and I still have a hard time believing that such leadership actually existed in one man, praise god.

And so by all rights he would have won the Senate seat, leaving Hillary Clinton to ponder how she would ever elevate herself enough to run for national office. It may very well have ended her hopes of becoming president, and resigned the Clintons to the carnival act that they were in Arkansas, while in the White House, and have been since then.

We most likely would have enjoyed these other benefits of such an altered history:

  • No Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State
  • No national security breaches via Mrs. Clinton’s private email server
  • No intimidation of the more reasonable Democrats who would consider running for president
  • Perhaps a stronger challenger to Barack Hussein Obama in 2007, and therefore no president Obama
  • No re-living of the Clinton scandals of the 1980s and 1990s, which distracted the country then (something Osama Bin Laden took full advantage of) and may yet distract us again
  • Less destruction of the cultural respect for the Rule of Law, something that politicians like Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Bill Clinton have perpetrated and fueled in their every waking moments

Isn’t that a nice list?

Even Democrats are tired of the Clinton brand of “Me Me Me” and “Deny Deny Deny” while various laws are trampled and/or broken.

Just look at what happened at the recent annual meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative, where a who’s who of international celebrities and luminaries turned down invitations to show up.

The Clinton Foundation invited everyone from Pope Francis and Leonardo DiCaprio to Bill de Blasio and Janet Yellen to its showcase gathering starting Saturday in New York City, according to multiple sources familiar with the planning. But those invitations were among the dozens turned down by all manner of celebrities, dignitaries and donors, according to the sources, who said the controversies swirling around the foundation and Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign have made some bold-faced names and donors wary of the foundation. <Politico.com, link>

Clinton GI where is everybody

No, Bill, you won’t be able to save your partner Hillary’s campaign. You were extremely toxic to yourself and the country while serving as president, and as we all observed during your tenure, Hillary is arguably even more toxic than you are (a rather shocking thing to even contemplate).

That Clinton magic, which shielded the two of them from 900 stolen FBI files, Savings & Loan fraud, perjury and obstruction of justice, Indonesian purchase of influence, presidential pardons of drug dealers and tax fugitives, Vince Foster, Ron Brown’s plane, and a Bill-Cosby-esque trail of women who claim to have been sexually assaulted over the years, is flickering out.

And so the Clintons owe a huge debt of thanks to Rudy Giuliani for giving Hillary Clinton an unobstructed path to elective office in New York state, without which the Democrat party might be in a lot better shape and without which our nation itself would be that much healthier (neither of which would matter to the Clintons, as they only care about themselves).

If only Rudy had run, but it was not to be.

When Barack Obama was elected in 2008, he vowed to fundamentally “transform” the United States, and he has delivered in many terrible, terrible ways, including putting us so deep into debt as a nation that our base of power (economic strength) may be imperiled beyond any future administration’s ability to repair it.

His latest hammer blow to American heritage is to unilaterally rename Mt. McKinley in Alaska.

The White House announced Sunday that President Obama is changing the name of North America’s highest peak. Mount McKinley — named after William McKinley, the 25th president, who served in the White House until his assassination in 1901 — is returning to its traditional Alaska Native name, Denali. <NPR, link>

mt mckinleyWhen I read some of the angry responses from lawmakers in Washington (Congress being ignore yet again by this most unconstitutional of presidents), I noticed that they were all from Ohio, because President McKinley was an Ohioan.

Ohio lawmakers reacted angrily Sunday to the White House’s announcement that President Obama would formally rename Alaska’s Mt. McKinley — North America’s highest peak — “Denali” during his trip to The Last Frontier this week.

Here is what Rep. Bob Gibbs, R-Ohio, had to say <Fox News, link>:

Mount McKinley … has held the name of our nation’s 25th President for over 100 years. This landmark is a testament to his countless years of service to our country. This political stunt is insulting to all Ohioans, and I will be working with the House Committee on Natural Resources to determine what can be done to prevent this action.

President McKinleySo let’s observe that Barack Obama, who owes his very presidency to Ohio voters, is of course more than happy to score a nasty two-fer on the mountain renaming: (1) Remove the name of a former president from a natural wonder, and (2) thumb his nose at the state that, along with California, enabled him to occupy the White House and do his dirty deeds.

This is a man whose every action repudiates our English heritage — the return of the Winston Churchill bust, the mistreatment of the UK Prime Minister at the White House, and countless other actions — and renaming mountains is just one more brick in the wall of his two-term tantrum of destruction of all we hold dear.
