So Barack Obama made a “rare” trip to Capitol Hill this morning to try to push Democrats to vote in favor of his “Fast Track” trade proposal.
The House later defeated the bill, with many Democrats voting against Obama’s agenda and then saying all kinds of nasty things about the nobel peace prize winner — might they have woken up for a brief 24-hour period in which they saw the real Barack Hussein Obama?
Get a load of these quotes:
From Democrat Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.):
Basically, the president tried to both guilt people and then impugn their integrity. There were a number of us who were insulted by the approach.
From Democrat Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.)
He was eloquent in terms of saying that he respected our opinion. Where he kind of went off is in believing that anyone voting against TAA was not playing it straight.
From Democrat Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.)
I don’t fault him for trying to get what he wants, but I do reserve the right to disagree with him when he says ‘play it straight’. He cares about trade adjustment assistance, but he is using adjustment assistance as a bargaining chip to get what he really wants, which is TPA. Is that playing it straight? I mean, come on. He reserves the right to play politics to himself? Come on.
What amazes me is how any Democrat ever believed that this man, Barack Obama, raised in Indonesia and mentored by hard-core America-hating Marxists, was a fellow Democrat.
The truth is that he has never been in the mainstream of American politics, and the Liberal love affair with him shall be recorded in history as one of the most self-immolating and astoundingly self-induced mass delusions ever to occur in a heretofore civilized and educated society.
