As much as Barack Obama’s actions as president deserve impeachment and conviction and the resulting removal from office (go President Joe!!), it is a bad strategy (the Democrat-controlled Senate would fail to convict) and would only serve to make mr. Obama more of a martyr than he has already made of himself.
Which is why John Boehner’s strategy of filing a lawsuit against this lawless president is a stroke of genius in the interests of protecting and defending the Constitution (Obama’s sworn duty, which he has made a mockery of). I’ll bet mr. Obama knows he stands a very good chance of losing in court and that he is therefore quite worried about it (in fact it might have induced a squiggle in his golf swing).
How amusing, then, to witness mr. Obama’s PR response being riddled with references to “Impeachment”, though there is no plan to impeach this corrupt president.
Dan Pfeiffer, a top aide to President Obama, said that the White House is taking the threat of a possible impeachment attempt by Republicans seriously.
“I think a lot of people in this town laugh that off,” Pfeiffer told reporters at a Christian Science Monitor breakfast. “I would not discount that possibility. I think Speaker Boehner, by going down the path of this lawsuit, has opened the door to Republicans possibly considering impeachment at some in the future.” <Yahoo News, link>
See what I mean? Obama, through his mouth piece, is trying to sway voters by portraying Republicans as being impeachment-mongers (I think most Americans are against impeachment, and Obama, knowing this, is trying to weaken Republican credibility by pretending they are doing something they are not).
To this we say: sorry Obama, your attempts to distract are an obvious sham; you are about to be sued in court, not impeached, and the force of justice may yet censor you and your lawless regime.
