I saw this photo and it suggested so many things to me.
I’ll spare you my flood of thoughts and mention only one: that human beings are predisposed to invent reality in ways that make them feel good even though the truth is different from their projected fantasies, or in certain cases radically different from them.
John Kennedy and his “Camelot”, and Barack Obama and his nobel peace prize…good grief Charlie Brown.
Barack Obama offered us “The Audacity of Hope”, but delivered a very different kind of audacity: that of his creation of an even bigger myth than Camelot, namely that he was a Savior figure who would lead our nation out of trouble at home and around the world.
This was always a lie, or rather a Big Lie, and those of us who understood the truth of his childhood, his parents, his mentors, and his actions and inactions throughout his entire adult life, knew that he would use the crisis of capitalism against it and us and lead us not into salvation but into a Collectivist misery and destruction of liberty.
I find it poetic that Wax Obama and Wax Kennedy are together in this picture and in this wax museum, for the two of them more than any other pair of American leaders enjoyed and are enjoying a collective mass delusion of epic and, in Obama’s case, tragic proportion.
