Obamacare is one of Obama’s principal weapons against the United States. One of its malignancies is its sadism towards individuals, whose premiums are going to skyrocket.
But that is how socialism works, and that is why Obama loves it: he worships the state and seeks to mold it in his own image, as do all power-mongering demagogues.
The word “socialism” has lost much of its power through over-usage, and so many people have emotional reactions to it without ever really knowing what it is. Readers of this blog know exactly what it is, but for those who stumble onto this essay by accident, I offer the following two paragraphs from an AP story about the state of Maine’s analysis of how Obamacare will impact residents of Maine.
Stein cited the fact that people between 100 percent and 400 percent of the federal poverty level — or up to $80,000 a year for a family of four — will be eligible for federal subsidies on the exchange, making their out-of-pocket costs significantly lower. There is also a cap on out-of-pocket costs at more than $6,000 under the federal health care law, meaning that many Mainers who currently pay deductibles as $15,000 will see those costs come way down, he said.
But Joel Allumbaugh, director of the Center for Health Reform Initiatives at the Maine Heritage Policy Center, said the requirement that companies bring down deductibles is likely to make the rates skyrocket. Individuals could see their rates increases by as much as 100 percent, he said.
And so this is socialism in action: one segment of the population will have enormous financial burdens put on its back — in this case, “individuals” — so that another segment of the population — in this case families of four earning $80,000 per year — can be subsidized…creating a wealth transfer that has been orchestrated and will be managed and enforced by the federal government. But it is more than a wealth transfer: it is a bribe by the government towards an increasingly large voting block (in a perpetual recession, engineered by Barack Obama, many more families will receive the subsidy and therefore naively support Obamacare). This is how bad central government programs (are there any other kind?) become solidified and preserved, like a parasite on our country.
But the full description of how this is socialism is not quite complete. It must necessarily include the inevitable decline in the quality and availability of health care. The horrible unintended consequences of Obamacare are being “discovered” every day, most notoriously by the nation’s premier unions who have come to realize that Obamacare will “…destroy the very health and wellbeing of our members along with millions of other hardworking Americans.”

Unintended consequences that make things worse is a hallmark of socialism, and of the Liberal mindset that cultivates socialism.
And so Obama’s war on the Individual continues.
