Jan Brewer and Arizona are standing tall against the anti-sovereignty forces of Barack Obama and pushing ahead on their law to protect the state’s welfare and well-being (if you think half a million illegal immigrants trespassing ranch lands along the border without identification and without medical processing (as legal immigrants must go through) is good for Arizona and the nation’s welfare, then you are insane).
Headlines a few months ago led people to believe that the Supreme Court struck down SB 1070, but this was not true.
An Arizona judge says police can immediately start enforcing the “show me your papers” provision of the state’s controversial immigration law, marking another legal milestone in the two-year battle between Gov. Jan Brewer and the Obama administration over the handling of undocumented immigrants.
The ruling by U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton on Tuesday is the first legal go-ahead for Arizona law enforcement officers to question the immigration status of people suspected of being in the country illegally.
In June, a U.S. Supreme Court decision upheld the provision on the grounds that it doesn’t conflict with federal law. <source>
There you have it: just as disembarking passengers –citizens and non-citizens alike–from a an international flight cannot sprint past Customs and Immigration, illegal immigrants in Arizona are now one step close to being identified and deported.
The question is why some people think that such procedures are other than normal civil protection? They make claims about racial profiling, but I will tell you this: if I were a first or second-generation LEGAL immigrant, and many of my ethnic brethren were not, I would not mind being asked to show my identification, and would show it proudly. Nor would I mind seeing my criminal brethren deported, because why should they get to avoid the procedures that I endured on my way in? The paperwork, the waiting, the separation from my family, all of it?
I have always done the work, all of the work (in school and in my adult life), and I have always despised cheaters and those who would choose to cut corners or trick others into doing the work for them. Cheating is morally wrong and will ultimately bankrupt a nation.
No culture can survive it.
So take your compassion and put it into the CITIZENS of the United States, tens of millions of whom are still suffering. The concerns of illegal immigrants must necessarily be subordinate to the concerns of our fellow citizens, and if you cannot see this logic, you are turning your back on your country and your neighbors.
