All hail Arizona, again. It seems that a once-popular Democrat Congressman, Raul M. Grijalva, who is running for re-election in a district where Ds outnumber Rs two-to-one, is in a dead-heat with a 28-year-old Republican challenger. The reason? Because Mr. Grijalva urged a boycott of the State when Governor Jan Brewer, NATIONAL HERO, signed SB 1070.
“I reacted to it very personally,” Grijalva said in an interview. “Being a first-generation American, having had to deal with the consequences of being an immigrant family …. to all of a sudden have a law that separates me from the whole, I found very offensive and demeaning.”
So Mr. Grijalva, presumably a LEGAL immigrant, feels that SB 1070 “separates him from the whole”? Isn’t that odd: a man who is a citizen sees no difference between his status and the status of the hundred of thousands of illegals who have invaded Arizona… Hmmmm, what does this mean? Is there something regarding his status that we don’t know about? Citizens have nothing whatsoever to fear, so why does he identify with the illegals? Are they more his brothers than are fellow citizens of the United States?
“I won’t vote for him,” said Veronica Silvas, 44, a respiratory therapist in Tucson and a Democrat who had long supported him. “Why would you want to boycott your own state?”
How is it possible that a citizen of Arizona would call for a boycott of his own state? Actually, I can answer that: those who would commit national suicide, would also commit state suicide, so I guess he was being consistent.
The prospect of enemies of America like Mr. Grijalva losing the coming election – to a Republican in a 66%/33% Democrat district!! – is spine-tingling, and the fine citizens of Arizona are once again showing us all what patriotism and love of country are all about.
