why do you hate the real americans
I noticed there were some comments about Hugo Chavez helping Obama win, Actually setting aside what one might think of Chavez’s policies which evidently there are many who like them in Venezuela, Chavez politically would be a good one to talk to, Not just Chavez but all his friends including Ortega of Nicaragua. Morales of Bolivia. Correa of Ecuador, Humala of Peru. Kristen Kirchner of Argentina.DaSilva and Wilmes of Brazil. Ferdinand Lugo of Paraguay, the F.M.L.N in El Salvador. have all either been just elected or re-elected in thumping landslides. Someone down there likes at least some of Chavez policies and his inspiration. At the same time many Mexicans believe the center right Calderoun stole the election from the leftist Obrador, as was mentioned the center -right government lost in Peru and is at 10 percent approval in Chile. Sounds like Latin America has spoken loud and clear and even we admit they have weathered the economic problems pretty well. I think its time we get out of denial.
I have written occasionally about the poor track record of former colonies of Spain, which tend towards dictatorships and societies that squander wealth instead of creating it. Culture matters, and democracy can not save some cultures.
